Love is patient and kind; it is not jealous or conceited or proud;
love is not ill- mannered or selfish or irritable; love does not keep a record of wrongs;
love is not happy with evil, but is happy with the truth.
Love never gives up; and its faith, hope and patience never fail.
1 Cor 13: 4 - 7
thoughts, questions and still looking for answers....
you know, the bible always talks abt love.. "love one another", "love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind and soul", "love your neighbour as yourself", "love your enemy" etc etc. it tells you what is love in 1 Cor 13.. but it doesnt tell you how to love. by comparism with God's defination of what is love, if you have to be able to accomplish all that is stated in 1 Cor 13, i do not think i love. it is extremely difficult to be patient, kind, humble, unselfish etc all the time. all the 'bad' qualities in us human will surface at some time or another, it is in us because we are born sinful.
is love a feeling? feelings are fickle n may be subject to change as time passes, yet there must be commitment in love. so if love is not a feeling, how do u know you love?
been thinking alot, asking alot of questions.. still trying to sort out my thoughts, to think through the various answers given... until then, i will still be chewing on these questions.. meanwhile, more might come up...
